Personal log assistant Head of Starfleet Security

It has been several months since the loss of my crew, I truly believe that if I had not been off ship I could have done something to save them. I still remember being at the conference and being given the news. I failed them, by not going down with my ship and crew I will need to shoulder this dishonor. But one must go on, my new assignment to Starfleet Security was a bit hard to get used to. I much rather be aboard a ship instead of being limited to Earth. The first weeks were hard but I was able to overcome. The Head of Starfleet Security Captain Ross was an old mentor of mine. He took notice of me being added to his command and drafted me to be his XO. I was not aware how secretive humans were on Earth, daily I see small groups of officers whispering and acting odd. Since my assignment most of my days include seeking out disloyal Federation citizens and Starfleet officers. As ordered I am keeping names on file and turning them over to Captain Ross. Though it is good working with Captain Ross again I must note that he seems different some how. Either way I am hoping my orders come through to join another ship so that I can return to space.
