Mission:
Episode Fifteen: The darkness before dawn
Location: Edge of the Delta Volanis cluster
Timeline: Stardate 96820.6
It's already almost the end of the third shift, yet none of us had any sleep.
We're all racing the clock before the fleets of the Triumvirate and the Opposition meet in battle, to prepare for our own mission.
Chief Arev, together with Lieutenant Essex and Doctor Dion have a rescue plan for Cora.
For it to succeed, we need a way to separate the computer handling the communication with her from the ship we're flying.
And a cloak, to get closer for communications.
To this end, Commander Dovok had been most resourceful, in convincing the Romulan Republic Navy detachment, to provide us with a ship.
It is an extremely old T'Varo class warbird, with outdated systems in every field.
And Mr. Dovok feard, for some unfathomable reason, that I'm going to be offended by the suggestion.
But it's perfect for us - low power-signature, cloak, small footprint.
And the most important of all, computer system so outdated, it can barely interface with Romulan systems, let alone with those of the Federation.
The Chief will be using our shuttle as the communication hub and core to store Cora, while the rest of us will be supporting and getting ourselves in and out in one piece.
All that's left now is to assemble a skeleton crew, mostly tactical and engineering personnel and get our girl back.
