Mission: Episode Six: Behind the Lines
Location: En-route to Deep Space Nine
Timeline: Stardate 93726.1

We have arrived at Koralis system unnoticed, thanks to the IDFS and entered the asteroid field, to further mask our movements.
Due to the high level of interference on the asteroid field in which U.S.S. Cychreides had to hide during the mission, it turned out impossible to beam in or out men or equipment to the planet’s surface, so we decided to beam the entire Runabout into Koralis III atmosphere and have them return by themselves to the ship.
The Alpha squad, consisting of mostly M.A.C.O.s and under the command of Chief Petty Officer Talan Sohl, deployed as planned and proceeded with the search and rescue mission on the surface.

High above, we had other problems. The IDFS cooling system is interlinked with the transporter and weapon systems and has a relatively short time before overload, therefore we had an hour to complete the mission before being forced to reveal ourselves.
Moreover, Nakhul patrol passed our positions, forcing us to hide behind a particularly large and hollow asteroid.
It was extremely timely that the away team managed to locate and extract the terraforming group and I decided to wait with the IDFS purge until they are safely on board.
By the time the purge order was given, we had several plasma conduit explosions and the phaser couplings where critical. 28 of the crew were injured and deck 8 sustained heavy damage.

We were lucky to get away without a more serious casualties or damage, though the decision gave us the opportunity to vanish into the asteroid field before the Na’kuhl patrol could intercept us and escape the system unmolested.

I must commend the dedication and professionalism of the crew and the level of readiness for this mission they’ve shown. I’m proud to see that this ship is finally ready and passed its first trial of fire with distinction.

The Terraformers are on their way to Deep Space 9, in quarantine and under the care of Dr. Selren, as some of them showed symptoms of an unknown viral infection.
