First Officer's log

Mission: Episode Eight: To go forward you must go back
Location: In orbit of Vulcan
Timeline: Stardate 93785.9

Alliance Command, or should I call them - a branch in Starfleet Command, are as vague as their counterparts.
Our orders were to get ready and arrive on Vulcan with the utmost haste and secrecy. Even the Captain received little more information than the crew on our query.
The upside of visiting San Francisco is that they get a remainder of our existence and assign long-awaited crew members to fill some vacancies in the senior staff.
Although ensign Visone is as green as a replicated lettuce and fears the rank and experience of the crew (even chief Talan), I see a keen intelligence and courage in him and I'm certain he'll be a very good head of Operations. This is what we've sorely missed these last few months.

On Vulcan, we got some more information - we are to find out if the object that crash-landed on the surface, nearly 300 years ago, has anything to do with the Na'kuhl and temporal post-delivered packages.
We also got a lovely, though a bit arrogant Trill Science officer, to help us with our mission. I'm sure that Lieutenant Zehn and Lieutenant Commander Zus are having quite a reunion, after an unforgettable time on Risa together.

I must commend the crew - all the departments did an exceptional work and the away team made the discovery, 250 meters below the surface, in a timely fashion.
I'm glad that no one from the Vulcan authorities came to ask questions, as we were digging and exhuming without any coordination with them.
It is probably part of the hush-up made by the Federation government that enabled this.

The object itself, to our great surprise, wasn't Na'kuhl at all. It was Breen.
Though we've got the faint readings of Tachyon particles on it, we have no answer yet as to how and why it got here and if there is any link to the Na'kuhl and the probe on Koralis.

Our next destination is the Kelvani belt, were we are to rendezvouses with someone from the Breen Confederacy that works as a liaison to the Federation, but on the way we are to get as many answers as possible from the object.

And to pick up our new pilot, or rather, Chief Flight Control officer.
