We've made our decision and have to live with it.
Though even Chief Arev told us that the augment brains are not really conscious, many of us had a nagging doubt 'till the last.
But the ramifications to keep them were too great.
There is no chance in hell that We would use them as machines on this ship or on any Alliance facility.
Falling back into the hands of Section 31 will bring them back into a life of torture and servitude.
And keeping them as they are may push them to develop a consciousness.

None of the options seemed appealing.

So they are gone.
And we must forget.
