"A broken crystal a fractured one May endanger the safety of ship and crew alike" -Prof. M.O'brain

We were all broken again, lost in space again with no port nor ship to call home.

We were all fractured, scattered within pods, shuttles and even one aboard an enemy ship under their command.

I was broken fractures but also lost. One battle raging in front of our very eyes were two fleets collide while we are on an ancient vessel as some form of Romulan power play. A second one more intense is beyond our reach a battle to evoke emotion and loyalty in a realm of absolute numbers and data.

The plaque is held tight in my hands, the edges biting into my flesh in attempt to banish the feeling of hopelessness.

Something hit my foot, a laser scalpel from a discarded kit, I pick it up.

"But it is important to notice that the crack itself is no danger, only ignorance of it's existence is" -Prof. M.O'brain

A small empty space near the bottom corner of the plaque catch my eye I quickly scribble 3 more rows try to keep my hand steady against all the turmoil around us.

"As theory states, the crystal exist in more than three dimensions that means even if it's physical form is cracked it may yet be more useful than ever" -Prof. M.O'brain

The screams of the captain and the silent pacing of the commander assure me. We are safe, the crew is safe. Against all odds she made it and brought her home.

The new lines are visible through tears held back for months.
