Mission: Episode One: Cloak and Dagger
Location: Deneb Sector
Timeline: Stardate 93684.77

It's my first log as the XO of the Cychreides and it feels like the rest of the ship and its crew right now - a work in progress.

We've received orders to rendezvous with the U.S.S. Griffon in the Chin’toka system near the communications relay at AR-558.
The orders came with the Cychreides still in the final stages on the retrofit, for the Main deck has been sealed and the Engineering crew has been pulling double shifts to tie up some loose ends and bring it to full operation.
Which makes me a bit on edge, pulling one of the most powerful ships in the fleet before the end of the retrofit, to rendezvous with the Admiral of Starfleet Intelligence...
Well, it's probably not a patrol mission around Starbase 621.

The enlisted crew that we have been assigned is at full complement, which suggests that the Federation recruiting efforts are quite fruitful, but we sorely lack officers - especially on the senior staff.
The whole senior staff underwent a major change, with me promoted to Commander and an XO, Nox replacing me as Chief engineer and getting the Lieutenant rank and Doc. T'pel becoming our CSO as well and a Lieutenant Commander.
We'll probably put some senior enlisted officers on the senior staff as well.

Though the circumstances are not optimal, I have full confidence in the crew to perform adequately and with professionalism befit their rank and station.

And for the time being we will do what we can and must - prepare and wait.
