Mission: Episode Eleven: Lighthouse
Location: U.S.S Orion

TO: Chief Petty Officer T. Sohl; Commander U. Zus
CC: Chief Petty Officer C. Dowling; Captain D. Miller
FROM: Chief Petty Officer A. Johanson
SUBJECT: Away Mission, U.S.S Orion.

The call was given by Chief Sohl to gear up and meet her at the shuttlebay, after collecting our equipment and locating the Squad Equipment we met Chief Sohl in the Shuttlebay, where we boarded the number 1 shuttle, Runbout Class. Piloting the shuttle was Lieutenant L. Karlsson and Warrant Officer D. O'Rally, the flight was completely uneventful - well apart from I swear a 10 foot 2 Ensign stumbling out of the latrine... Estimated journey time was ~15 minutes.

Upon arriving at the derelict ship, U.S.S Orion, it was noticed that the ship was damaged (heavily) resulting in several breaches to the ships hull, Lieutenant Dovok (Officer Commanding) was notified that the radiation levels would prevent beam in, there was also no atmosphere in the ship. After several minutes of discussion it was decided we would adopt EVA suits and beam into the ship, the shuttle shields were moved to accompany us and keep the radiation out.

Upon arrival, it was quite clear that the crew was dead - myself and Chief Sohl set up a defensive perimeter (despite the clear lack of hostile forces, you never know in this galaxy); PO1 Korgh and PO3 Char were placed on the only turbolift, PO2 Zh'rylarh was posted to watch one of the Officers which accompanied us, Lieutenant JG Visone; PO2 Silak was posted to the Intelligence Ensign. I put myself with Lieutenant Dovok, Chief Sohl oversaw operations.

After between 10 and 20 minutes (Estimated), Chief Sohl mentioned that it may be prudent to secure Engineering, which was the general consensus of Lieutenant Dovok as well, Myself; PO1 Korgh, PO2 Silak and PO3 Char were sent with LTJG Visone to the engineering deck, due to the inoperable turbolift we had to use one of the many tubes that run through the ship (Note: LTJG Visone appears afraid/uncomfortable with small spaces). As expected it was a uneventful journey.

We arrived at Main Engineering within a few minutes, quickly finding a console... unfortunately there was a lack of an Engineer (NOTE - HIGH IMPORTANCE: ENGINEERING OFFICERS MUST BE PRIOTITZED. It was unclear why the Chief of Operations was there but no Engineer, or even us.) thus we ran into a brick wall, I had PO1 Korgh and PO3 Char on the door, PO2 Silak, as our DET took it upon himself to attempt to help fix the solution. He had the idea to plug in the Lithium Battery (Squad Equipment) into the Console, which appeared to bring it to life. It was at that moment that the Intelligence Ensign walked in (NOTE: He apparently has some experience with computers), together him and Silak managed to divert the power from auxiliary systems to the primary systems, in threat of Silak's battery blowing we were time pressured (2 minutes) to get the Ships reserve batteries operational; fortunately there was a lever which I was told operated the batteries, after a couple of attempts the batteries on the ship came to life.

From there we were ordered by Lieutenant Dovok to return to the bridge, it was once more completely uneventful - unfortunately the Lithium Battery did not survive the journey back, it was completely shot from the high demand paced on it (it has since been disposed of), I have taken it up with the QM we should have a new battery soon. From there we simply beamed back to the shuttle and enjoyed a quick flight back to the Cychreides.
