Mission:
Episode Thirteen: You never know where you're going till you know where you've been
Location: In orbit of Rh'ti
Timeline: Stardate 94621.14
It's been long six months of tedious work, while staying put.
As the Cychreides sustained heavy damage both during the Nova and Tortuga incidents, we had to return to the newly established Federation outpost orbiting the Rh'ti's second moon.
The old Rh'ti station had little in a way of Federation compatible technology and Starfleet was ferrying equipment to retrofit it into an outpost capable to hold regional HQ and repair dock.
On the other hand, the structure of the station is in remarkable condition and require little maintenance before the refit started.
Being on site and having experience in ship and station construction, I was put in charge of the retrofit effort.
And so, most of the first 4 months of our stay in the Rh'ti system was spent working on the station, now dubbed as Deep Space R-1.
I brought almost the entire Engineering, Operations and Science departments to work on the retrofit, along with Starfleet and Rh'ti personnel, leaving a skeleton crew under the command of Commander Zus on the Cychreides.
The remaining month and a half were spent groundbreaking the repair dock, bringing the Cychreides to full functionality and installing several upgrades that came as part of the station refit package.
The Earth New-Year we celebrated on board, as the major repair work was completed and we moved to calibration and testing process.
Now, a week into the new year, Lieutenant Essex gave the Cychreides a clean bill of health and we await departure orders. At long last.
