Away Mission

Location: Borg Sphere

RE: Away Mission Report

At around 1930 Standard Time, Commander Zus ordered Beta Team to equip and prepare for an away mission after the ship detected and approached a Borg Sphere, that was seemingly abandoned. After we had geared up, 2nd Squad remained on the ship; while 1st Squad joined the away team comprised of, Commander Zus (Officer Commanding); Lieutenant Dovok; Lieutenant Junior Grade Visone and Ensign Voidstar and 1st Squad.

We beamed onto the station, where immediately, 1st Squad cleared the room - which appeared to be almost completely abandoned. After several minutes, Commander Zus, ordered 1st Squad to push on down a central corridor. We formed up on either side of the wall, 3 people to each side and slowly pushed up; clearing the way for the away team until we reached an opening, leading to a large room or hall. After scoping the room, quickly, 1st Squad moved in and cleared the room allowing the away team to move in.

After several moments the away team discovered there was /nothing/ in the room other than some interesting looking power readings, we soon pushed on to a second exit point, in the same manner as before we pushed through a second corridor toward the second main room/hall. When we breached the second hall, it was quickly cleared allowing the away team to push in; once again it was discovered there was nothing there, at this time 2nd Squad beamed in to start covering the rooms we left.

We moved in a similar fashion down a third corridor and into a third room, which appeared to contain more structures than the first two rooms; which meant something to the away team, the room was quickly cleared and 1st Squad set up and all round defense around a structure in the center of the room that caught the away team's attention; soon after 2nd Squad also pushed into the room and joined the all round defense.

After they'd run their analysis they decided they needed to search for 'parts' for the structure, at which time Commander Zus ordered Visone, Voidstar and Dovok to search the Sphere for these parts; 1st Squad escorted them back through the two main halls as they searched for their 'parts'; having ascertained all the required parts for the structure, we returned to 2nd Squad (NOTE: I believe it may be wise to teach Starfleet Officers on away missions such as this the need to conserve energy; this comes after Lieutenant Dovok ordered 'double time' through a /safe/ zone).

Having returned to 2nd Squad, Ensign Voidstar and LTJG Visone put the structure together and somewhat activated it; in which a code popped up, Ensign Voidstar and Captain Miller (Communicating Via Transmitter) worked to figure out the code, at this time a slight 'friction' rose between Commander Zus and some of the other Officers; who had differing views on precautions we should take on safety (check Communications log for details). None-the-less, Ensign Viodstar and Captain Miller successfully decoded the structure and figured out the borg mystery, upon this we returned to the Cychreides with no incidence or events to report.
